1.  I know this doesn’t sound right, but you have to give something away.  Don’t worry, its not your stuff or your time.  You’re going to be giving away an ebook that answers some burning questions that people have.  Today, a lot of people are looking at a possible foreclosure.  Is there a way you can show people how to avoid this?  Let’s face it, in this economy there aren’t too many buyers around.  The banks are sweating as much as the borrowers.

You could do this for almost any audience – pet owners, job searchers, lonely guys/gals, baby boomers.  There are two ways to profit from this.  One:  Include links to affiliate programs that you are allied with in the body of the report.  Two:  Offer the entire report for sale as a ‘Private label rights’ report – that means that the person who buys is can call it their own, change the wording, the links, anything they  want because they paid you for the privilege.  Who would buy?  Website owners who also target that audience.

2.  Set up a directory of services in your local area and have those service providers sponsor the directory.  This is only one example of hundreds you could set up.  Put together  mock up of a ‘welcome gift’ that local real estate agents will give to new homeowners.  Think ‘Welcome to Smithville’ on a coffee cup filled with business cards, refrigerator magnets and other promotional items from painters, plumbers, lawn maintenance companies, interior designers, furniture stores, pizza delivery, etc.  You get a promise of X welcome gifts given out per month from the real estate agent and each company you sign with gets an exclusive spot inside the gift.

3.  This one will require that you already have some skill – or at least the chutzpah to claim that you do.  Sign yourself up at some job websites like elance.com or guru.com – run a google search and you’ll find more.  Find an area of ‘expertise.’  If you know more complicated stuff like web design or photoshop, you should have no problem.  If not, you’re gonna have to figure out how to write, fast and cheap.  You’ll be an ‘internet content provider.’  Write articles for these people in groups of ten or fifteen.  Underbid everyone else – but give a reason – your building your portfolio and need testimonials. When you get enough work under your belt, raise your prices and pursue other gigs.
